Thinking about working in fair trade?
Established in 2006 and located in Austin, TX, we are a for-profit company with the mission of creating economic and social well-being for marginalized producer communities through responsible trade. We sell a full line of consumer products to more than 1,000 retail customers ranging from large, well-known chains to local independently owned stores, both online and brick and mortar.
The graphic designer will lead the creation and production of brand right artwork that elevates the company’s image and mission. Will translate brand guidelines and project briefs into original concepts and contribute to company’s creative department.
Key areas of responsibility
  • Graphic Design & Creative: Lead all graphic design efforts for company for print and digital (including 128 page annual catalog, tri annual 46 page launchbooks, website updates, POS, trade show signage, email marketing, special events, and social media). Establish and update templates and formatting for all artwork based on company brand guidelines and art direction. Set visual tone and design graphics for quarterly product launches. Oversees the work of any freelance designers, photographers, or models needed to support visual marketing efforts.
  • Project Management: Maintain calendar and planning for quarterly product launches, email marketing and trade shows. Own and document processes and assets. Manage print production to completion including budgets, scheduling, vendor selection, layout, and proofing.
  • Photography Management: Plan and manage quarterly photo shoots for 40+ skus each quarter with photographer, model. Direct location scouting. Produce photos that follow visual strategy. Plot styled photography needs considering print and web applications. Batch resize and rename. Website image management. Occasionally fulfill in house photography requests.
  • Website Administrator: Manage company website including keeping images and content up to date quarterly.
  • Product Design Support: Assist with in occasional in house photography requests, customer sneak peek presentations, and general collaboration with the creative product development team.

Skills required:
  • Degree in graphic / communications design with at least 4 years experience in branding / marketing communication
  • Master of Adobe CS (must have strong Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills)
  • Ability to work on large scale and small scale projects, large print project experience a must
  • Ability to work very independently, high confidence level in decision making, must work efficiently under firm deadlines
  • Must interpret art direction and brand guidelines and bring creative, fresh ideas to projects
  • Keen eye for style and aesthetics, awareness of branding and design trends
  • Excellent attention to detail, extremely organized, process driven
  • Some html, css
  • Mail Chimp design
  • Photography skills a plus
  • Understanding of different cultures, some travel a plus

The marketing coordinator will manage and execute company’s brand strategy, lead outreach efforts and create consistent messaging that communicates the company’s products and mission.
Key areas of responsibility
  • Project management: Manage marketing outreach initiatives and events. Take input from Sales, Product Design, and Artisan resources to develop effective campaigns to promote products, sales, and brand. Maintain and monitor key performance indicators for marketing tools, track metrics, and outline methods for success. Work in partnership with marketing partners and manage events. Support marketing manager in building marketing strategy.
  • Content Writing and Messaging: Write company content including product descriptions for over 40 gift, accessory, and home décor products each quarter. Communicate company brand story through writing new web content, newsletters, blog posts, POS, brand outreach, events, and other marketing campaigns.
  • Social Media Lead: Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy that defines how social media marketing techniques will be applied to increase visibility and traffic across all brands and products. Define key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to gauge success for social media. This includes blogging, twitter, facebook, and pinterest.
  • Marketing Administrator: Owner of marketing calendar, content organization, and processes

Skills required:
  • Degree in marketing communication with at least 4 years experience preferably in product / service related industry
  • Copy writing experience, strong writing and communication skills, ability to understand and translate brand guidelines into projects and content writing
  • Social media experience
  • Extremely organized, detail and deadline focused, ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Squarespace blog platform experience a plus
  • Some Adobe CS experience a plus
  • Some photography experience a plus
  • Strong interest and understanding of Fair Trade, sustainability and community development programs
  • Mail Chimp design

What are we looking for?
  • Sales experience (transactional and relationship building) over 6 years in B2B environment.
  • Proven record of Sales excellence in wholesale industry, preferably in Gifts, Accessories and/or home accent markets with both, independent stores as well as large retailers. Trade show experience a plus.
  • Strategic ability and experience in building Sales plans.
  • Ability to analyze data and make conclusive recommendations.
  • Strong excel skills. Experience in CRMs a plus.
  • 5+ years of management experience, leading teams and being a strong team player.
  • Deep inclination and has worked towards sustainability or Fair Trade.
  • Strong ability to be organized and meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Exposure to different cultures and international travel is a strong plus.
